Years ago I purchased an SLR camera as I wanted to take better pictures and be more creative with my photos, especially when travelling. Problem was I wasn't really sure what I was doing and the manual did not help me much. So I stuck to taking pictures with the dial set to Automatic. I then did a weekend course whilst travelling overseas and at last was able to move on from Automatic (just). My photography improved a little but it was not enough for me. My passion had grown stronger and I was eager to learn more. I have just completed the Basic & Creative Digital Photography 101 Short Course at Photo Image Campus and I am excited about the fact that my photography has taken a new direction. I am now more confident to use all the settings and make creative choices about the images I want to achieve. The course was able to give me the knowledge and skills I needed and allowed me plenty of time to practice and then review these skills in class each week. The small class sizes meant that each week we all had the time and opportunity to share our images before taking the next step. In this atmosphere we were able to both celebrate our improvements and have our work critiqued by the lecturer to allow us to set new goals and learn more from each other. Going out on location classes was also a great way to consolidate what we had learnt whilst also making new friends to share our passion with.
Who knows where my photography will take me now? The sky's the limit!
